Ronald Thomas Strader, 73, of Natrona Heights, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 with his sons by his side. He was born July 6, 1944, in Pittsburgh to the late Donald J. and Barbara D. Welsh Strader of Middlesex Township, Butler County. Ron was a 1963 graduate of Mars High School, and was part of the first class to graduate from Mars High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. He was employed by Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad from 1965 to 1972. Ron then worked for Minnote Corp. from 1972 to 1990. From 1990-2002, Ron was a manager for Glassmart Food Store in Monesson. Ron enjoyed life to the fullest in everything he did. His most favorite memories were enjoying vacationing with family in Florida and going downtown Pittsburgh for the different activities/events the city had to offer. He was a man who enjoyed sharing memories of his past time with anyone and everyone. No one could walk away from his family/life stories. He was a man who truly loved his family and friends. He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his kids, grandkids and friends. Ron is survived by his two sons, Ronald David (Robyn) Strader, of Natrona Heights and Kenneth Michael Strader, of Saxonburg; three grandchildren, Jazmine Rose Strader, Gabrielle Jade Strader and Cyler Alan Strader; and by his beloved Mary Lou Mooney. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry and by his two brothers, David and Gary.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St. Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where funeral ceremonies will be held on Friday at 11 AM.
