Russell R. Companion, 85, of Natrona Heights, passed away Saturday March 4, 2017 at his home. He was born November 12, 1931, in Natrona to the late Russell F. and Anna Wlodarczyk Companion. Russ was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended the Alexander Hamilton Business Institute. He retired in 1990 as Senior Manager of Production Control at Allegheny Ludlum Steel. Russ was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends at McDonald's for coffee every morning and his many trips to various casino's with his niece, Linda. Russ was a very generous man, full of life and especially enjoyed his family. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Linda (Ronald) Misejka, Deborah (Bruce) Coffman, Cynthia (Michael) Baczynski, Paula Rusiewicz, Leonard (Mandy) Nitowski, Desiree Companion, and Rochelle Companion; and by his many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Companion; sisters, Dolores M. Crowe and Elizabeth J. Nitowski; and by his nephew, Cary Crowe.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with his pastor the Rev. John B. Lendvai as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Ladislaus Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
