Ruth Y. (Long) Lisko, 89, of Brackenridge, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. She was born March 23, 1928, in Brackenridge to the late Joseph Merle and Ruth Eurich Long. Ruth retired from the Dietary Department of Allegheny Valley Hospital after 30 years of service. During her lifetime she was an active member of the Church of God in Lower Burrell. For many years and until recently Ruth worked at the polls for the Bureau of Elections in Brackenridge. She was an outstanding cook and baker and provided many memorable meals for friends and family. Ruth, along with her late husband, Louis, and Army Ranger & historian participated in Ranger meetings all over the world. Louis and Ruth also personally met and celebrated along with numerous United States presidents and French dignitaries in Normandy, France during the anniversaries of D-Day. She is survived by her two sons, Gary R. (Patty) Lisko, of Buffalo Township and David L. Lisko, of Florida; grandchildren, Gary R. Lisko Jr. ( Leah Pollick) and Lauren Lisko; great grandson, Julian; brother, H. Thomas Long, of Duluth, MN; sister, Joyce L. Orris, of Fawn Township; sister-in-law, Rose C. Long, of Columbia, South Carolina; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis F. Lisko on August 9, 1998; brother, Joseph 'Rex' Long; and by her sister, Carol J. Kowalski. 'We will all miss her unique personality. She was one of a kind and we are blessed to have had her in our lives.'
Funeral services and burial for Ruth are private. Arrangements are under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
