Stanley R. Maliszewski

Stanley R. Maliszewski, 83, peacefully passed away on June 8th , at

Concordia in Cabot. He was born December 6, 1939 in Natrona, PA, to the

late Stanley and Sally Maliszewski. Stan was the devoted husband to the

late Eleanor (Ziemkiewicz) Maliszewski.

Stanley was a 1960 graduate of IUP and later from Duquesne University

where he received his bachelors and masters degrees in mathematics. He

was also a 1985 graduate of Pitt University receiving a bachelor’s degree in

computer science. Stanley began his career teaching at the Freeport and

Deer Lakes High Schools. He later devoted his sincere joy and passion for

teaching math at La Roche University for 20 years until age 82.

Stanley was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed

traveling to Poland and many camping adventures at US national parks with

his wife and son. He loved spending time with and traveling to visit his

family, especially his grandsons. Stan loved the outdoors, jogging, and

biking along the Butler Freeport rails to trails. He was a kind and generous

man with a terrific sense of humor who will be missed by many.

Stanley is survived by his son Matthew (Elizabeth) Maliszewski, of Pomfret

Vermont; and grandsons Vitus and Vincent Maliszewski.

The family would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Stan’s special

friend, Julie Porter, who provided him with companionship for several fond

years and support during his illness.

Honoring Stan’s wishes, there will not be a viewing or funeral mass. His

ashes will be laid to rest next to his wife at Mount Airy Cemetery by his son

and immediate family at a quiet prayer service. Arrangements will be
