Sylvester J. Cieslinski

November 19, 1933 — September 30, 2016

Sylvester J. Cieslinski, 82, of Natrona Heights, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at his home. He was born November 19, 1933, in Natrona, a son of the late Vincent and Mary Zaporowski Cieslinski. Syl was a 1952 graduate of Har-Brack High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Syl retired from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge, where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights, the American Legion Post 48, in Natrona, the P.N.A., in Natrona and the Kosciuszko Polish Patriotic Social Society, in Natrona. Syl enjoyed bowling and fixing anything for his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Gregory (Cindy) Cieslinski, of Natrona Heights, Joyce (Christopher) DeSalva, of La Quinta, Calif., Michael Cieslinski, of Belle Vernon and Lisa (Tim) Seagriff, of Natrona Heights; nine grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Craft, Nathan (Kristin) Craft, Kristopher Craft, Brad Cieslinski, Brittany Cieslinski, Nicholas Cieslinski, Katy Cieslinski, Casey Seagriff and Tim Seagriff; 3 great grandchildren, Cole Allen, Hailey Ann and Ethan Curtis Craft; and by his sisters, Hedwig Hlavac, of Natrona Heights, Annie Finley, of Brackenridge and Roselene (Richard) Angelini, of Tarentum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Brown Cieslinski on December 21, 2015; daughter, Deborah Ann Craft; brothers, Robert S. and Herman Cieslinski; and by his sisters, Florence Dalcherone and Valerie Malkowiak.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 4-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St. Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in St. Ladislaus Church with the Rev. Aaron Kriss as celebrant. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery Mausoleum, Frazer Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sylvester may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
