Vincent M. Kabay, 85, of Brackenridge, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. He was born February 26, 1937, in Natrona Heights, a son of the late George and Anna (Fabry) Kabay. Vince was a 1954 graduate of Har-Brack High School. He served his country in the United States Army. Vince worked at Burrell Construction as a truck driver most of his life. After retiring, he worked as a night guard for Zoll in Pittsburgh. Vince was the Buffalo Township Zoning officer throughout the 70's and even helped Lernerville Speedway get through all the red tape to extend the track. Vince loved anything outdoors. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. During his younger years, he enjoyed scuba diving, water skiing, camping, motor cycling and played acoustic guitar. He would volunteer as a diver for the Tarentum-Brackenridge area in search and recovery. Vince was a big football and Nascar fan, he loved country music and his Polka music played every Sunday since the 1960's. He would help anyone who asked with his carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills. Vince loved spending time with his children, grand and great-grandchildren in his blended family.
Vince is survived by his wife, Viola (Jones) Kabay; his children, Bernadette Kabay (Michael Maliszewski), Vincent (Christine) Kabay, Susan Kabay-Flick, Daralee (Frank) Powell, Todd (Tracey) Pierce and Jennifer (Tony) Shumac, grandchildren, Brandon (Amy) Bucinski, Amber Desiree, April (Nick) Creaby, Lystina (Cody) Bliss, Alyssa (Jeff) Guckelberger, Ryan Flick, Kristin (Chris) Peck, Joshua (Alyson) Powell, Aaron Pierce, Trinity Pierce, John Pierce, Dylan Shumac and Ethen Shumac, Great-Grandchildren, Sebastian, Oscar, Jack, River, Payten, Rilee, Melanie, Axel and Zoey, and by his siblings, Patricia Homick, John Kabay and Daniel Kabay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Bucinski, Great-Granddaughter, Mariah Pierce, brother, George Kabay, brother-in-law, Paul Homick and by his sisters-in-law, Shirley Kabay and Mary Kabay.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m..
