Walter S. Weleski, 94, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was born June 15, 1927, in Tarentum a son of the late Vincent and Angela "Nellie" (Glogowski) Weleski. Walter served his country in Italy during WWII in the US Army 88th Infantry Division Headquarters Battery 337th Field Artillery. He retired after over 38 years of service from the 8-2 department of Allegheny Ludlum Steel where he worked as a personnel clerk. Walter was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Guardian Angels Parish in Natrona Heights and the American Legion Post 48 in Natrona. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and hunting and fishing with his son and grandson. Walter was also active in the Boy Scouts and the Highlands band when his son was active in both. He is survived by his wife; Theresa "Terri" (Polczynski) Weleski; son, Russell W. (Debra) Weleski, of Natrona Heights; grandson, Russell T. Weleski; and by his sister, Marian (Walter) Valasek, of Brackenridge. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his daughter, Corrine Elaine Weleski in 1961; brothers, Edward and Joseph Weleski and by his sister, Anastasia "Betty" Basnak.
Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with his pastor the Rev.
