Wanda K. Welsh

Wanda K. (Kay) Welsh, 86, of Natrona Heights, died Saturday, January 6, 2024 at The Seasons of Saxonburg after a prolonged illness with dementia.

She was born July 28, 1937, in Tarentum, PA to the late Albert L. Cooper and Wanda M. (Mozena) Cooper. Kay grew up in Natrona Heights, graduating from Har-Brack High in 1955. After high school she attended business school and worked as a secretary for the publisher Eugene Simon of the Valley Daily News Dispatch. She was later employed at Fire Pro Services and the office of Dr. Nathaniel Landerman. Kay loved tending to her flower gardens, line dancing, playing cards, and crocheting. She also loved traveling to Texas with her husband each year during the winter, getting her hair done, shopping, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Richard A. Welsh, of Lower Burrell, a daughter Lori Kay (John) Welsh-Nury of Natrona Heights, four grandchildren, Shane R. (Claire) Welsh, Trevor E. (Haley) Welsh, Derrek Koblinsky, and Kevin Koblinsky, and a great grandson, Trevor (TJ) Jr. Welsh. In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband of 53 years, Richard J. Welsh, Kay was also preceded in death by her sister Linda L. Kuhn.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Cicholski Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.  A funeral service will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Hope Anglican Church.
