William Dean Vorp, 68, of Natrona Heights, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights surrounded by his family. He was born October 26, 1948, in Natrona Heights to Betty Penn Vorp, of Natrona Heights and the late James E. Vorp. Dean served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War era stationed in Thailand. He retired after many years of service as an electronic repairman from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge. Dean was a member and past Worshipful Master at the FA&M Pollock Lodge 502 in Tarentum. He enjoyed working on cars, craft beer, watching his children's soccer games and vacationing with his family at the Outer Banks. Dean is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon L. Jones Vorp; his two sons, Bryan (Kira) Vorp, of Pittsburgh and Brad (Becky) Vorp, of Pittsburgh; brothers, James (Joyce) Vorp, of Saxonburg, Gary (Linda) Vorp, of Natrona Heights and Dan (Janet) Vorp, of North Carolina; sister, Donna (Bill) Faulk, of Natrona Heights; and by many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM. Burial with full military honor's accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dean may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Avenue, Suite E201, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15222 or alz.org.
